Widows with Will

A Widows' Support Group

This support group will serves as a community or gathering specifically designed to provide emotional, social, and sometimes practical support to women who have lost their spouses. These groups aim to help widows cope with their grief, navigate life after loss, and rebuild their emotional well-being.

Losing a spouse can be one of the most difficult experiences in life, especially for those who have not remarried. It is important to take the time to grieve, heal and seek support from loved ones.

Healing is a process. Taking things one day at a time is okay. This group aims to offer strong support for widows as they navigate the transition of becoming a widow and as they maintain a new life.

Empower Her Legacy LLC is here to assist you with developing your will to live after experiencing such loss.

Here are some ways that this widows' support group will assist with the healing journey:

1. Encourage Healing and Coping

2. Offer Practical Guidance

3. Help with Identity and Life After Loss

4. Provide Information and Education

5. Address Unique Issues Faced by Widows

6. Provide Spiritual Support

And so many other ways!

My Story

IMG_8858.jpg

On June 20, 2020, I became a wife.

On April 22, 2022, my son's 9th birthday, I was made a widow at

34 years old.

The irony of life is that as much we try to control what happens next with schedules, routines, and alarms, life and all that comes with it cannot be controlled. Never in a million years did I imagine that I would be giving birth to a sweet baby boy in 2021, amid the period of the terrifying Pandemic, and then burying my husband the very next year after losing him on the morning of my oldest son's birthday.

My new reality was frightening, and I experienced an indescribable amount of anxiety while treading the uncharted territory of being brokenhearted while handling business, caring for my children (I was still breastfeeding my 13-month-old), and somehow dealing with my grief and devastation.  With a separation or divorce, there is a process that allows time for acceptance and every other type of emotions to be developed and worked through. However, with sudden death, well...it's nothing or no one that prepares you for that.

My goal with this group is to create an environment that allows us to be vulnerable as we accept the reality of transitioning from being a wife to being a widow and from being a widow to whatever we would like to be. As the group expands, I am excited to create lasting connections. Being a widow is challenging, but we will find the strength to live, breathe, and enjoy life once more.
